New Technology in our Bombers

02 September 2016

Found in all of our Air Tractor 802F’s, we have the Trotter Gen II Fire Doors. They are sophisticated onboard technology which allows our pilots to choose the requested coverage level and amount of load to be dropped, enabling pinpoint accuracy. More commonly called the ‘fire gate’, this technology allows for absolute precision in aerial fire fighting.

As part of our contractual agreement with NAFC (National Aerial Firefighting Centre), we are installing Trotter’s latest technology the DataVault into our 11 contracted AT-802F’s. The DataVault works with the fire door and enables real time reporting back to the CFS and Aerotech on engine start and stop, take off, landing, load and coverage levels.

The DataVault will meet all the mandatory requirements of tracking and event logging as specified by NAFC for fixed and rotary wing firebombing operations in Australia. It is also compliant with current USFS requirements.
